WW2 German Dagger Sheath Scabbard Authentic Fair Condition

I listed the dagger itself in a separate auction please look. The sheath is in fair condition. I don’t know what the string is from. Probably added later?? Maybe someone can send me info. The dagger fits tightly into the sheath once whole dagger is assembled. Cross guards and sheath listed in a separate auction that close at the same time roughly.
