Working Antique German WW1 (?) Brass Pocket Compass With Chain Beveled Glass

Description

I inherited this compass 25 years ago along with several Red Cross, Audubon Society, and election buttons (Woodrow Wilson) from the World War I era The items with dates show 1917 on them. Everything was given to me as a group. I am making the assumption that the compass is from that time period, though having no knowledge I cannot guarantee it. There are other similar items listed in various auctions that seem to indicate the same. This brass pocket compass comes with its original chain and has thick beveled glass. Thanks for looking!
