Vintage Ships Binnacle Gimbaled Sestrel Compass Oil Lit Coubro Scrutton Wood Box
Here is a vintage Coubro Scrutton ships compass. It is a quality vintage piece with a heavy wooden box that has a glass top. The box latches in front. The compass is attched to the box by 2 large bolts on the sides and swivels nicely in all directions.
Inside it reads Coubro & Scrutton -on the north there is a mark that reads SESTREL B/T 1940 London. The wooden box measures 7.75" x 7.75" and is 6.5" tall. There is no damage that I see -but, be sure to look closely on all the photos -this is best way to tell the condition. This is a quality vintage compass -the box is in great condition with a few faint marks.
