Vintage French ships compass

Description

Here is an old ship’s compass in its original wooden box with slide lid. The compass is marked B.E.N Marseille. The case measures 4 3/4” x 4 3/4” x 2 1/4”; the compass has a diameter of 4” and a height of 1 1/2”. As I write this the compass is working.
