Description
Please excuse any glare in my photos. You are bidding on one
(1) vintage round large fruit serving bowl
that measures
9 1/8"
six (6) matching berry bowls
that measure 6 3/8" across. These bowls all
feature a stunning fruit and vine pattern featuring what looks like a peach, apple, and grapes with a cobalt blue and black small chain trim and golden yellow and gray vine or paisley design and has a bright gold trim painted just above the black and blue chain as well as on the edge of the rim.
I cannot find any other of this rare old pattern, so I do not know a pattern name. If you do, please send me a message.
The back has a green ENGLAND and a gold signature that looks like it may say JILL. The actual black backstamp has a circle with a grid pattern inside that almost looks like a globe, with a ribbon across it that says GRIMWADES followed by STOKE ON TRENT and ENGLAND. This back stamp dates them to the 1930 timeperiod.
These bowls are in EXCELLENT pre-owned condition with no chips, no cracks. One of the small bowls has a small stain on the backside. Very few very light utensil marks only noticeable on very close inspection. There is some crazing on them, as you might expect with something nearly 100 years old. The gold trim is not worn in the slightest.
Again, you are bidding on a large serving bowl and 6 individual fruit / salad / soup bowls.
