    Description

VICTOR VICTROLA PHONOGRAPH VV-XVI 1916  Made by the Victor Talking Machine Co. in Camden NJ USA
A bit of history:  The "VV-XVI" was the original internal-horn Victrola; officially introduced in 1906, it remained the Victrola flagship model for many years. Although it was originally advertised as"Victrola the Sixteenth" (XVI), the metal identification tag used a"VTLA" designation in the early years. This was the first commercial product to enclose the horn inside a stylish cabinet. Selling for a whopping0.00, it became an immediate hit.
Very good condition for it's age.  Everything works great with the use of a counter weight on the stylus head.  The weight of the head causes turn speed to slow down during play.
I use a stick with a weight on the end, but something more elegant would work too.  This is typical of all of these machines, the original grease gets hard with age and the springs have less power.
They can be cleaned and re-greased, but I have not messed with it.
Speed control works great and it can be dialed in at 78 rpms on the nose.
Local pick up only, but delivery within a few hundred miles might be possible.
