Description
Victor Mahogany Antique Victrola Record Player Phonograph Model VV-XVI.Serial number 110021H
Year: 1914
Beautiful phonograph is over a century old and works very well. All hardwares are present including original wooden wheels. Doors are clean as well as the lid. Motor is a wind up and short of a occasional gear skip all is well. There is'nt any Victrola weve seen that doesn't have the occasional knock. The wood is solid mahogany. This is back when things were nade of solid polished woods. Some finishing of the wood & polishing will bring out the original luster.
There ard no cracks or structural damage to the unit. When fully wound up unit will run a full 2 sides of a 78 record and more. Speed control works great.
The braking system needs to be adjusted but that intails only getting the levers under the platter to coincide with the movement with the tone arm. It's a adjustment that is made with the platter lifted off and the adjustment made. Overall the whole unit is beautiful and the records played sound fantastic. The reproducer is working perfect & a box of needles is included .The reproducer is a Victor Talking Machine EXPOSITION attachment. Needles need replacing when the record sound quality starts to get scratchy. We will add Alice in Wonderland (3 records) with the phonograph for demonstration.
This is a largre floor model with wood wheels and a heavy unit so this is pick up only. Bring help to move from the house to your vehicle. According to information on the Victor Talking Machine website this is a 'somewhat common model'. How many survived in this condition is anyones guess.
Please ask any questions. Rest assured your getting a great antique phonograph.
