    Description

The Leedy Way is a complete biography of George H. Way combined with an updated history of the Leedy Drum Company.  I worked mainly with primary sources such as the George Way archives, corporate records obtained from the Canadian government and the State of Indiana, and interviews.
Moreso than any of my other drum company histories, this book "brings it all together" by providing insights into the relationships between Leedy, Way, Advance, Conn, L&S, and Camco. It provides altogether new narratives for many of these companies, particularly Leedy and George Way Drums.  Neither U.G. Leedy nor George Way ever owned as much as 50% of their drum companies, and both men eventually lost control of their companies altogether.  (Yes, U.G. Leedy did sell his stock to Conn, but by the time of that 1929 "sale" described at the time as a merger, Conn already owned a greater share of the firm than Mr. Leedy did.)
