Description
PurposeContinuous indication of the course, the definition of course angles on various visible objects. It is installed on small vessels, boats, motor boats and yaly.
The principle of operation and a brief description
The principle of operation is based on the property of the magnetic needle to be installed in the plane of the magnetic meridian. The compass uses a system of 6 magnetic arrows attached to the bottom of the float with a scale and located symmetrically with respect to the N-S line of the scale. The float with a special device - a firebox - rests on a compass pin in the center of the pot filled with PMS-5 liquid and rotates freely around the vertical axis, setting along the compass meridian.
The composition of the compasses include:
· A compass with a pot on a gimbal suspended in a binnacle (or without it);
· Adjusting device - device 3;
· Visual direction finder;
· Compass magnifier.
In the compass the support device is used, on which the compass card rests, fixed permanently.
Compass KM100-M3 (KM100-3) - without a binnacle, designed to supply lightweight lifeboats and sailing yachts, has a mount to be placed on the backboard of the boat. Independent lighting, oil. There is no magnetic deviation compensator.
Technical details
Diameter of a card is 100 mm.
The price of the compass rose is KM100-M3 (KM100-3) - 2 °, for the other compasses - 1 °.
The angle of inclination of the pot, in which the card is kept horizontal, is not more than 10 °.
Maximum compass errors at the horizontal component of the Earth’s magnetic field strength H = (5 ± 0.5) A / m and temperature (20 ± 3) ° С:
· On a fixed base ± 1 °;
· On a straight course at a speed of up to 25 kt when onboard and pitching up to 3 ° - ± 2 °;
· On a straight course at a speed of up to 25 kt with side and pitching pitches up to 22.5 °, yaw up to 5 ° - ± 4 °;
· On a straight course at a speed of up to 25 kt when rolling to 30 °, pitching to 10 °, yaw up to 5 ° - ± 3 °;
· 40 s after circulation through 180 ° at a speed of 6 ° / s - ± 1 °.
Compass kettle filled with PMS-5 polymethylsiloxane liquid.
Compass accuracy does not change under the following conditions:
· Temperature is from minus 40 to 60 ° С (for instrument 3 - from minus 10 to 50 ° С);
· Relative air humidity up to 98% at temperature up to 40 ° С;
· Side rolling to 45 ° and pitching to 22.5 °;
· Circulation at speeds up to 20 ° / s.
