Description
Offered is an original pre-World War Two production german military bayonet manufactured for the K98k rifle. This bayonet is marked J. Sch. for manufacture by Jetter und Scheerer. It was made in 1937, as indicated by the 37 on the spine of the blade. The blade is near mint and retains both its factory edge and point. Almost all of its original factory blue remains. The original wood grips and free of cracks and remain unmolested. The bayonet is correctly double Waffenampted on the pommel and the lock/release button functions as it should. The bayonet is offered with its non-matching scabbard, which is marked 41 CUL for manufacture by E. Pack & Sohn in 1941. The scabbard remains in excellent condition, as pictured condition. The frog stud is secure and the scabbard’s finish is original. It is correctly Waffenampted on the ball tip. Overall, a very desirable, scarce early original bayonet that doesn’t bear anywhere near the price of a similar condition matching rig.Domestic shipping only.
