This is a vintage and original 1943, 20" by 28" poster made by the Office of War Information (OWI) to help boost morale on the Word War II Home Front, and remind U.S. citizens to not talk about vital war information that might be overheard and aid the enemy.
This poster was commissioned by the OWI from Mexican born artist Leon Helguera, and was such a popular image, it ended up becoming the official insignia for the nationwide effort. The image of Uncle Sam was printed on countless advertisements, war posters, articles and even restaurant menus in 1943 and 1944! Just a great home front war poster printed by the U.S. Government.
This was originally folded, and still has the light crease lines, but pretty nice compared to many others. There are three thumb tack holes at top corners and center. One light repair in top right border only with small piece of acid free tape. One tiny scuff on Sam's right cheek, repaired with a teeny piece of acid free tape as well on back. Three pinhole size holes at the three folds down the center. Visible only when held to light. Mentioned to be complete in my description.
