    This is an original poster issued by the United States War Production Board bearing a an expression of gratitude from
    Lieut. Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower
    to “American industry—labor and management—which has given us the weapons and the equipment with which to conduct our North African campaign.” In its first major campaign of World War II the American Army invaded North Africa in November 1942 in Operation Torch, led by Eisenhower, and in conjunction with British forces drove the Germans and Italians out of Africa. Eisenhower later became a Four-Star General, commander of Allied Forces in World War II, and President of the United States.
    “War Production Board / War Production Drive Headquarters Washington, D.C. A-26" and “U.S. Government Printing Office: 1942—O—499027" are printed at the bottom.
    The poster was once folded and has three light horizontal creases and three vertical creases; the paper has darkened a bit with age; it has been stored flat for years and is in very nice condition: FINE+ condition.
