    Description

Olympia Express Cremina 67 black lever espresso machine 1974 hand made in Switzerland
    - Like anything from Olympia express, with a new gasket kit, these machines are like brand new, the build quality and simplicity in engineering will ensure this thing is alive for many more years.
    - Every seal and gasket has been replaced in it. I bought the Orphan espresso gasket kit and the special food grade grease.
-The tamper you see in pictures, will be included as well. It's machined stainless steel with walnut handle.i don't know what my next espresso machine will be so the tamper is going to the new owner.
    - Everything was detailed and cleaned, asbestos removed off the water boiler.  Recently I also bought a new portafilter and a double basket and the lever from Cremini Coffee, it's the original part. No chips on chrome, no rust anywhere. I did paint the metal cover in black, it used to be the sandy brown  color but had some coffee stains over time that I wasn't able to get out and it was bothering me. Paint looks as good in real life as it does in pictures.
    - Using it is pretty easy, while a lot of new people into coffee are afraid of lever machines, I found them a lot more forgiving in terms of grind size, (obviously not talking French press grind vs espresso), give it about 15-20 minutes to warm up and it's good to go, I learned if I run a bit of hot water thru the group head, will speed up the process. Since it's very manual, you should also be aware of the false pressure, just open the steam wand for a bit after you hear it stop making a fizzing noise and will start boiling after that.
This machine is the air-cooled 911 of coffee machines (without the maintenance). The shots are simply delicious and frankly once you find the right range of settings on your grinder, and you put the same weight in the basket every time, shots will be consistent. The direct feel of the lever and what is going on inside, will make it intuitive in what you need to adjust.
