    Description

    This Hering Black Blues, key of E, was refurbished by a professional harpsmith (see albertharp.com for details) although all it really needed was tuning. The cloudy black finish is baked on and will not deteriorate. It has been tuned to Hering tuning (full just intonation) so it sounds a little different from a Maine Band 1896 and a very different from most Japanese-made diatonic harps. Hering reed plates are thicker than usual (1.2 mm, not .9 mm) which makes the reeds easier to bend. Includes a zippered Powerbender case (not original). Made in Brazil, Herings are preferred by many blues players over Hohners.
