For example, the Broadkaster 4-piece Shell Pack uses Gretsch's 302 hoops, which are inspired by the company's hoops of the early 1950s. These 3mm double-flanged hoops have a more open tone than Gretsch die-cast hoops and are thicker and more rounded than vintage hoops, so they won't shred your sticks as quickly.
