Offered is a scarce set of 2 Bank of Greece official thick paper rolls 1 drachma and 2 drachmas 1973 series B, KM# 107 and 108. There are
50 brilliant uncirculated (BU) nickel-brass coins in each roll, or a total of 100 BU coins.
Obverse: phoenix rising from its flames and the date below, engraver I. Stinis. Reverse:
owl standing right, head facing,
denomination right,
engraver N. Perantinos

The little owl, Athene noctua, symbol of goddess Athena was first depicted on an ancient Greek tetradrachm during 5th century B.C.
The obverse with rising phoenix appears on both ends of the rolls (pictured),
as it is common with many rolls from the Bank of Greece. The 2 drachmas roll is partially reinforced with tape (pictured).
The 2 rolls weigh together 507 grams (17.9 oz.).
