Description

German K98 rifle bayonet made by Alcoso (Alexander Coppel Gmbh) in 1944 in Solingen, Germany.  Serial # 4742 - matching bayonet and scabbard.  Waffenamt (German Arms Weapons Agency) inspection markings are still mostly visible.  History: My uncle obtained this while serving as a tank gunner in the 7th Armor during WWII.  He passed away before I was born so can't provide any more history than that.
Overall, this bayonet is in good condition, though there is typical rust and patina on the scabbard and bayonet. Several nearly invisible nicks in blade.  Any dents in the scabbard are very small.  There is still some bluing on the blade but there are also rust marks and "splotches" where the bluing has come off.  Blade has
not
been sharpened. Bayonet release button is operational.
I have tried to show the good, the bad, the ugly as best I can considering my photography skills.  If you would like add'l photos I will do my best to provide.   Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
