This is a Great pieces of lost Empires were the French were trying to bring Order and Security as well as Prosperity to a Foreign Land in need of a Future...

    THE BADGE D
ATES FROM THE FRENCH/ ALGERIAN WAR ( IN NORTHEN AFRICA) WERE THE GENERAL DE GAULLE, WHO WAS A HERO DURING WW2, BETRAYED THE LEGION AND FRANCE ITSELF IN GIVING ALGERIA ITS INDEPENDANCE IN 1962, THE WAR HAD STARTED IN 1952.
THE FIRST REGIMENT D'INFANTRY "DE LA LEGION ETRANGERE", REFUSED TO CONCEED AND HEROICALLY STOODED UP IN FRONT OF THE ENEMY AND THE WEAK FRENCH GOVERNMENT. THEY WERE PUNISHED OF HIGH TRAHISON, THE GENERALS WERE EXCECUTED AND THE PARTICIPANTS WERE EMPRISONNED...
