Embassy Home Entertainment, #2065. Deadly Force (1983) stars Wings Hauser, Joyce Ingalls, and is directed by Paul Aaron. This cult 80s crime film follows Stoney Cooper (Hauser). Cooper is a washed-out freelance detective in New York. Having been kicked off the force for an independent view of "justice" in his home town of Los Angeles, he is summoned by a friend whose daughter has been murdered by "The X Killer," a notorious serial maniac terrorizing L.A. Cooper is unwelcome by most of his former colleagues, but he forges ahead on a one-man hunt to catch the killer and stop his murderous rampage. Though not a huge hit at the time of its release, this cult crime film is highly underrated for its double exposure of Los Angeles' underbelly of crime and degradation. A classic vigilante cop thriller bordering on exploitation. Vintage Betamax release. This Betamax is new and factory sealed. The distributor's logo is watermarked on the unopened shrink wrap. The box is mint with no fading or wear. Collectible crime sleaze.
