Chicago Great Western Railroad Handlan Switchman's Lantern-Red Cast Globe

Description

This is an very nice Chicago Great Western Railroad Handlan switchman's lantern. Nice condition for its age! Lots of good clean original tin/metal. "CGW" is cast into the top rim of the lantern. It has a correct brass burner and fount. There is a cut/dent in the metal in the bottom of the lantern, and some of the patent dates on the bottom of the lantern are worn, but you can see the patents from the 19-teens and twenties. Lantern sits on the base of the fount. Lid opens and closes properly. The globe is a replacement, but is a nice red cast globe with "ADLAKE KERO" and the Corning "CNX" logo cast into it. The globe has no cracks; only some flea bites on the rims.  CGW lanterns of any type are difficult to find, and this is a nice piece you will be proud to add to a collection!
