    You are bidding on the vintage brass lifeboat compass shown in the photos above.  This compass measures about 9 inches tall.  The base measures about 8 3/4 inches in diameter.  It weighs about 6 pounds.
    The compass card is marked "Sestrel" and "Made in England".  The compass itself gimbals freely inside the housing.  In addition, the compass is liquid filled and functional.
    The brass housing has some wear and a few small dings here and there.  The glass on the housing and compass are in good shape - just need cleaned up a little.
