    Description

    Offered is an antique Star (Boston, MA) functional gyroscope housed in a beautiful teak windowed box with a flawless brass binnacle mounted on the right side.  The instruments in this handsome arrangement appear fully operational.  The gyroscope is gimballed to the base of the box and readings are visible through the oval window above the instrument.  The binnacle is a brass silo with a tiny oil lamp inside.  When lit, light enters the teak box through a cut out in the side of silo and a window in the side of the box allowing instrument readings in the dark.  This nautical device is historic, functional and very decorative,  The teak has a warm glow intensified  by the brass fittings and binnacle.  Very cool!!  All sales are final; no international sales.
