Antique John E Hand & Sons BRASS Skylight Pyramid Binnacle Ship's Compass- Extemely RARE!!
Lighted card, bright brass warm patina, fully functional.
Glass lenses, mounts and fluid compass card are completely intact and sealed.
Name as written on plate: John E Hands & Sons Co. Nautical Instruments.
Has recently been restored to original lighted condition- yes- it lights up.
More Description: Early 20th century skylight binnacle compass by John E Hand & Sons of Philadelphia. Six glass panel, cathedral brass top. Gimbel compass base is stamped Philadelphia/ Baltimore. Can't read/ don't know if any numbered stamp may have been engraved in either the Philadelphia or Baltimore name plate under name of city.   13" high (approximate) x 9" diameter.
Wonderful find for collector or anyone with a classic Yacht.
Item has been stored for many years, and I'm not very knowledgable about nautical items so please look at all pictures.
