1966 Chevrolet C10 Fleet Side Short Bed Pickup Truck.

You are looking at a real little old lady one owner complete renovation Pro-Touring lowered one-of-a- kind show winning pickup built by Rucker Performance.
Mrs. B included owners manual, tin protect-a-plate, original B key chain, maintenance records, last state inspection 2002, and copy of the clean Texas title and paint codes for those who want to check on the exact paint properties..
The East Texas Pickup was purchased in Jackson Texas in 1966 by Mrs A H B of Maydelle ,Texas as her drive to town and church transportation. Maydelle a small  town in the Piney Woods of East Texas between Rusk and Palestine in Cherokee County population in  66’ was about 350 people. This truck saw duty on weekdays to and from the farm to town and on Sunday to church.
This excellent condition truck was the basis for the truck you see here, originally a 6 cyl engine,3 speed standard transmission, economy cab with only heat and a 2-40 ac unit (2 windows down at 40 mph)
This truck was acquired by the consignment owner FG in 2007 to be the basis of the final show winner being presented here. This process took all of 12 years for Mr. FG to bring the truck to this high level of completion. The list of improvements and updates is too many to name all here so we will cover the most important items.
Truck was disassembled to the frame which was dipped and treated to a black surface of road protectant coating .
Front suspension was up-dated and changed to 2” dropped spindles  with new GM disk brakes and 11” rotors including new springs and shocks.
Power steering was added with all new tie-rod ends, drag link, and idler arm using the GM factory style power steering.
Rear suspension was updated  with lowering springs, dual adjustable Trac 24" bar, dipped rear end-differential housing coated and prepped with a new posi-trac carrier and 3.43 gearing,  all new Rockland  ring and pinion, bearings, and seals. The rear brakes include new wheel cylinders, shoes, and drums
Power Brakes system is all new with dual master cylinder, stainless steel lines, fittings and blocks and valves. GM calipers and new rotors and 2” drop spindles.
All body panels and sheet metal has been stripped to bare metal, any rust was removed  and treated, the bare sheet metal was worked to a laser straight line on all body panels including the cab, bed, doors, front fenders, hood and tailgate. All sheet metal is installed with new seals, bolts, and insulators.
Rear bed has a Frenched in panel tailgate has old-style chains removed and the updated lowering hinges and updated with hidden latches with open locking mechanisms installed.
High end bed rework includes special Maple hardwood cut and designed by
Champion Custom Cabinets
for this truck with polished stainless steel bed retainers and a new remote fuel tank accessed rear of the bed behind tailgate.
Wheels are 15”x 8” Chrome Reverse 5” backspacing including Baby Moon Hub caps,
Rubber on the road is
Goodyear Integrity 15” Radial Tires
Black wall out. Keeping the wheels on the truck are complete special locking lug nuts.
All chrome parts are new including the front and rear bumpers, trim is the highest level available from Chevrolet in 1966 the dual side trim package with pearl white inserts.
Paint is
Dupont 44429K Chromabase  BC Iridescent Electric Blue
with coarse aluminum flakes with Pearl Blue over White base coat and 12 layers of clear, wet-sanded and buffed to a mirror like Show Polished surface. Paint and Body work took over 530 hours and 36k in cost alone.
Power Plant is a New
350ci Vortex Chevrolet long block
with classic Finned valve covers and air cleaner, Aluminum intake,
MSD HEI ignition
and high voltage wires,
Holley 650 CFM 4160 4BBL Carb, Holley Electric Fuel pump. Holley 12-804 Adjustable fuel regulator
with fuel pressure gauge, new 3/8 SS fuel line, New 65 amp Alternator, Power Steering pump, water pump, Electric fans, new heavy duty 4 core alum radiator, complete new mono belt drive system, new R4 Air compressor, new HIPO flex-plate, and high torque starter.
The exhaust system is made up of stainless steel
Hedman Headerss,
ceramic coated 2.5 inch exhaust pipes and
Cherry Bomb mufflers
for a fantastic deep Mello tone you can hear for a block outside and hardly hear in the cab of the truck. Exhaust system has quick change feature that lets you remove pipes in less time than removing the collector bolts takes.
Transmission with
High-Stall
lock-up convertor is a rebuilt 4L60E overdrive transmission built by
Phoenix Transmissions
specially for the engine and rear end ratio for excellent acceleration and great overdrive fuel mileage for Highway Cruising. Completing the drive train is a new heavy-duty truck standard
Automotive Drive Line
drive shaft complete with new front yoke and u-joints, this single shaft takes the place of the troublesome split carrier bearing type two piece shaft. Keeping transmission cool is a Heavy Duty in radiator cooler with stainless steel lines.
Transmission is shifted by a racing
B&M Hammer
shifter on the floor.
Headlights are halogen with relay supplied power by-passing the harness for full battery voltage and bright results using direct battery connection.
Complete new engine harness, new under dash harness and new rear bed harness.
All lights including turn, tail, brake, parking, backup and head lights are new with new Lens, sockets, wiring , and all dash switches are new.
Instrument Panel is completely rebuilt with new switches and odometer, dash is frenched in sheet metal removing the ash tray and smoothing the dash for the excellent paint work.
New Windshield Wiper motor under dash with new windshield washer system with new switches, hoses and engine compartment fluid bottle.
The Stereo is a
Retro Sound Laguna
fitting the dash exactly like the stock am radio that was removed. This radio looks and seems like the factory unit. Radio also has control for the hidden antenna which was frenched in next to the driver’s door handle.

Interior cabin is completely sound proofed with several layers of sound proofing heat reflecting pads. New custom fitted carpet, kick panels, door panels, and matching seat cover. New Arm rests, door handles inside and out and window cranks. New Factory style seat belts.
Glass is new including a new tinted windshield with new rubber and back glass is new as well, both are factory tinted to help keep the Texas heat on the outside and cool ac air on the inside.
Rollers are rebuilt and side and vent windows are the factory Astro glass from 1966.
