    1940's / 50's Fur Felt Field Grade Cavalry Officer's Cap
    The cap is in excellent condition overall.  There is little to no wear to the fur felt, some light toning to the bullion and cap insignia and some light discoloration to the cavalry cap band.  There is a single bullion thread on the visor that is out of position (see pictures).  The chin strap has some dark toning throughout with the exception of two small spots, one on either side of the visor.  The chin strap button on the left side has some light patina on the surface.
    The sweatband is intact and all stitching is sound.  The cap is marked as being a size 7 1/4" and has the maker's mark on the inside which reads, "GENUINE FINE QUALITY FUR FELT / TOP RANK / TRADE MARK REGISTERED BY LOUISVILLE CAP CORP. LOUISVILLE, KY.".  Under the sweatband the cap is marked "84"; only marking under the sweatband.
