    Description

    Very old small stove or lantern type heater. ( I was just told by a knowledgeable lantern dealer that this is a heater for a glue pot. ) These were used by craftsmen in factories and repairmen used a small one like this for traveling. there is a mica? Window to view the flame to control the heat. A metal chimney to funnel the heat (funnel has serrated edge on top.) and a flat top surface you could set a pot of glue on top heat it up. If you have any idea what company made it please let me know. Description on burner thumb wheel has Nov 26, 72 and Feb 11, 73. Google search and info from TheLampworks.com says issued to Plume and Atwood, Waterbury, Conn. They were organized in 1869. Measurements are 8 1/2 inches tall, add the handle and hook is 16 inches tall . Base of Font is 5 1/2 inches across and 1 3/8 inches high. Flat top of unit is 4 inches across. Metal cone over burner is 4 1/2 inches high and has window (mica ? ) to view flame. Has 3 braces soldered to font and riveted at the top. Font cap is 3/4 inch across and 1/4 inch high and is threaded. Inside of font looks clean with some light surface rust. Check out all the photos for condition and Email any questions before you bid.
